Review of Breedlove Oregon Concert by Ed Sein

by Ed Sein on October 15, 2015

The Breedlove Oregon series has a solid Sitka spruce top but it’s the myrtlewood back and sides that set this guitar apart from others. Native to the shores of the Pacific Northwest, myrtlewood is culturally significant to the indigenous people of the region and make for a unique tonewood. It pops and is articulate and responsive like maple but has a darker, warmer tone characteristic of a tropical hardwood, like rosewood.

The Oregon Concert features a hard rock maple neck, ebony fretboard and the Breedlove pin-less bridge design. It is one of the most consistent, even-sounding and balanced guitars when recorded for our website sound samples. It’s a great playing performance guitar loaded with specially designed LR Bagg electronics and is a great studio/recording instrument. The Oregon Concert comes with a hard-shell case and at $1499.00 is a great American made instrument that will not break the bank.
