The guys from Moore Music Guitars headed to Stevensville, Maryland for an opportunity to work with the PRS team to build some great new guitars to be offered exclusively at Moore Music Guitars!
The photo shown above from the stairwell at PRS has a really cool story behind it. It’s a photo of Ted McCarty, who had a successful career with Gibson in the 50s and 60s and was a huge influence on Paul Reed Smith. Early in Paul’s career, he and Ted established a great friendship. Ted passed along a lot of his wisdom to Paul. The signatures on the photo are from PRS employees thanking Ted for his guidance and influence.
The first order of business was hand selecting wood for an order of custom PRS Guitars. The photos you are seeing above were taken in the PRS Wood Library (left) and the Private Stock Wood Vault (right).
The team went live on Facebook to allow our fans input on the guitar style, wood and color selection. Watch the team in action in the above video, as our fans from the inter-webs gave us input on building a PRS private stock guitar.
This is just a sampling of the beautiful wood tops that were selected.
As you can see, the team was VERY busy making selections to bring back to the store. That’s right! All of the wood you see here is being made into fine PRS Guitars and will make their debut at Moore Music Guitars in a few months. Moore Music Guitars has one of the largest inventories of PRS in the United States!
With the hard work behind us, the Moore Music team went onto the factory floor to watch the PRS Team at work.
The craftsmanship through all stages of the guitar building process is exceptional.
No attention to detail is spared.
The colors are exceptional and layered on with care to preserve the natural beauty of the wood.
Each guitar made at PRS is truly one-of-a-kind.
Some guitars are, of course, more unique than others. This was just too wicked cool to not share. WOW!
By the way, we just found out that we’re a Top 10 Dealer with PRS for the fourth year in a row!
